This is a group for those who participate in Lineman Rodeos. I would like to see you competitors form up like the “Pro Bull Rider Assoc.” so you can have some representation at these Rodeos on how the competition goes. If we could get all these local rodeos to at least have the same Pole Climb, and Hurtman, we could track you and better promote the Linemen throughout the year leading up to the ILR. That's my goal with this exclusive club, to form something like a “Pro Lineman Rodeo Association”. Byron Dunn

  • How about we endeavor that next year (2023) we plan for the first live meeting of the Fellowship in Kansas City on the Thursday night before of the ILR.
I already know when and where to have this event and believe I can arrange the whole thing. if we have enough members. I pretty much have this whole event planned out in my head.

  • Something they did at the Calgary rodeo. The poles were set on a big oval like an arena and the teams just went from station to station around the circle... Worked pretty good.

  • Most competitors were intimidated at first, thinking the timber would be so heavy. They were actually Western Red Cedar beams from my house and weighed less that 80-lbs. I got more compliments than any event I had ever done. Good times right there.

  • Designing events has always been second to competing in them. But, this may be my favorite. I designed this 46-kV Timber Replacement Mystery Event when we hosted the 2017 Florida Lineman Competition in Lakeland. I like to design old school events and this was by far the best I have built so far.

  • When you read the Lineman rodeo results in the upcoming issue, pay attention to how each rodeo reports the results. When you go to their web sites, each one has a different format and I just do the best I can to post them. Some have the egg climb some don't, there is not much consistency to it.

If I can get all of you competitors to sign on to this group we may be able to figure out how to keep track of the who's who. throughout the year. Like any competition, its the man in the arena we want to see! So think about that and invite your fellow gladiators. BTW we have been watching Colosseum on the TV. But you get the idea, a national organization of the Elite Linemen. Even the Firemen look up to these guys!

I know that if this group could get it's shit together, It would be a good thing for both the Linemen and the ILR to make it a true national event.
